Acepromazine Maleate USP 12 mg

ACEPRO-MAL Oral Paste is orally administered acepromazine maleate to provide a dose-dependent tranquiliser, relaxant and sedative effects in horses. It provides a safe, convenient and effective method of tranquilising and sedating horses. Acepromazine maleate mediates hypotensive, hypothermic and antispasmodic actions. It promotes a mild tranquilising effect, useful as an aid in quietening excitable animals for training , handling , transport and routine management procedures for assisting Veterinarians , Trainers , Studs and Owners.
The recommended dose is 0.11 – 0.26 mg/Kg body weight.
4 mL-10 mL per 450 kg bodyweight
For best results , administer on an empty stomach.
Allow 1 – 2 hours for peak effect. Tranquillising effect may be more pronounced if the feed and water intake is limited during a five hour period before dosing.
Or as recommended by the Veterinarian.
To ensure administration of a correct dose, bodyweight should be determined as accurately as possible as well as correct syringe division .
The syringe should be adjusted to the calculated dosage by setting the ring on the appropriate place on the plunger.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
For oral use.
Remove cap from nozzle .Before administration, adjust the syringe to the calculated dosage by setting the ring on the plunger. The paste is administered orally by inserting the nozzle of the syringe through the interdental space and depositing the required amount of the paste on the back of the tongue. The animal’s mouth should be free of any food. Immediately after administration, elevate the head of the horse for a few seconds to ensure the dose is swallowed. Replace cap on nozzle.
